Why are some Contact details (e.g., tags) locked?

4Degrees enables each team member to have control over how much information they share about the contacts they are connected to and their interactions.

By default, 4Degrees shares:

  • The 'details' of a contact (their work experience, email addresses, addresses), but does not allow teammates to edit those
  • The dates of your interactions (emails, calendar invites, and notes) with those contacts, but does not share the text of your interactions,

When a teammate has limited your ability to see the text of an interaction or edit information about a contact, you will see a lock indicating the data is owned by a teammate and they have not given you permission to alter it.

Clicking on the lock icon will give you an explanation of why it is there:
