How do I keep certain contacts out of 4Degrees?
4Degrees team admins are able to set up a Block List or a Safe List to regulate the incoming emails. When Domain Block List is enabled, 4Degrees will NOT import any emails or meetings with contacts from the indicated domains.
On the other hand, when Domain Safe List is enabled, 4Degrees will ONLY import emails or meetings with contacts from the indicated domains.
- First, go to Settings, then to Team Settings, and then to Email Settings.
2. Scroll down to Domain Block List and add the Domain name that you would like to remove from the system or restrict from entering the system.
3. Turn the Domain Block List feature On and then select 'Add domain.'
4. Repeat the steps above to enable Domain Safe List.
This feature is only available to 4Degrees admins.
Domain Block List: Any email addresses with whom a member of your team interacts that would otherwise be brought in are instead omitted from import. For example, adding in "gmail.com" would prevent any correspondence from being brought in and from any contacts being created when interacting with someone using a Gmail email address. Some example use cases include:
- Your own company's domain, to avoid tracking internal correspondence
- The domain of any sensitive clients who have specifically requested their emails not be tracked
- Any vendor domains that are not relevant to business goals
Those are just a few!
Domain Safe List: This is only used by 4Degrees customers who choose not to initiate the full automatic email sync. This will allow only emails with certain domains to be brought in, with all others being automatically precluded. For example, adding in "@gmail.com" would bring in any correspondence and contacts to be created when interacting with someone using a Gmail email address; but the same would not be the case with a "@yahoo.com" email unless it was also added to the Domain Safe List. The example use cases here tend to lean more towards certain organizations preferring to avoid a full email sync due to privacy concerns.
