Working as a Team in the Contact Detail Page

Can my teammates see that information? What does “team view” mean? How can I see just my relationship with a contact? How can I communicate with my team about a mutual contact? What is the lock icon?

4Degrees syncs to your email and calendar as well as your teammates’ email and calendar. 4Degrees uses artificial intelligence models and web scraping tools to enrich your contact data, then we display this information in the Contacts section of 4Degrees.

Team View

You can click into a contact page by clicking on the contact’s name. As you can see in the contact below, I am viewing the “team view”.

This is a combined view of the entire team’s relationship with this contact, Ablorde. Since this view includes my relationship with Kathryne, I can see the details of an email between us.

Can my teammates see this?

But when I hover over this incognito icon, I am reassured that only I can view the text of this email because I haven’t given the rest of my team permission to view my email bodies.

One-time reminders

I can also communicate with my team about Kathryne through on-time reminders. One-time reminders are located in the upper right-hand corner of the contact page.

I can remind Will to follow up with Ablorde and set a due date. This will send Will a reminder email now, and also on the due date. The reminder will also appear in Will's dashboard.

View teammates' relationships with their contacts

If I wanted to just see Ablorde’s relationship with Kathryne, instead of the combined team view, I can change the view here by clicking the dropdown button.

When you are viewing your relationship with a contact, we show you everything. Email body information, location, job history and more. But we don’t share all of that information with the rest of your team unless you want to.

Why can’t I see any details on this page?

Below, you can see that this contact page just shares information about Ablorde and Kathryne’s relationship. All of this data is locked (with the blue lock icon) because Ablorde has not allowed me to edit it. You can also see that the email bodies are blank because Ablorde has not given me permission to view them.

It can be very valuable for your teammates to be able to see your network and even some details, like the last time Ablorde interacted with Kathryne. We understand that you might not want your teammates to be able to read your email threads or other personal information. You set these preferences in sharing settings.

To access your sharing settings, click the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page, and then select sharing settings.
