Global Sharing Settings (For All Your Contacts)

The Sharing Settings feature on 4Degrees enables you to control the information about your network that is shared with your team by default (at a global level).

NOTE: You can also change the information-sharing settings on a per contact level, or for different teammates. 

Two Categories of Contact Information

There are two categories of contact information that you can share, or opt not to share, with your team:

1. Contacts' details
2. Interaction log

On the right side panel, you will be able to see the information that your teammates can view, depending on the sharing settings you tick.

Contact's Details

This covers the demographic and employment-related information about the contact such as their name, current, and prior job information, social media profiles, email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses.

4 Levels of Sharing Settings for Contact Details

• None - you can choose to not reveal any information about this contact
• See name + job - allow your team members to only see the contact’s name and job
• See all details - allow your team members to see all of the contact details for your contacts
• See and edit contact details - allow your team members to see and edit the contact details of your contacts

Interaction Log

This covers all the interactions you've had with this contact, including any imported emails and calendar invites, as well as your notes about your interactions with them.

7 Levels of Sharing Settings for Interaction Details

1. No information - hides any communication between you and your contacts
2. See last interaction date - allows your team to only see the last date you interacted with a contact
3. See all interaction dates - allows your team to see all of the dates of your interactions with a contact (but none of the content)
4. See all interaction types, dates + subject lines - allows your team to see all of the dates of your interactions, what type of interaction it was (email, meeting, note), and the subject line of the communication (but not the rest of the content)
5. See all interaction note details - allows your team to see the full text of any notes you've taken related to a contact (along with the dates, types and subject lines of email / calendar communication) - but not the content of imported communications
6. See all interaction details - allows your team to see all of the details (including the content) of your interactions with a contac
7. See and edit all interaction details - allows your team members to see and edit the details of your interactions with your contacts

Accessing and Updating the Sharing Settings

1. On the 4Degrees platform, look for the Gear icon (Settings) on the upper right portion of the window. Click into it and select Sharing Settings.

2. This will open up the Sharing Settings options. Update the sharing settings for your Contact details and Interaction details as you see fit. Save settings once done.
